Before puck dropped for the Predators on Opening Night, the Preds Foundation once again completed a successful Week of Giving, presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, from Oct. 4-8 featuring dozens of staff appearances throughout the Nashville community.
"Our Week of Giving was a great way to kick off the 2021-22 season in true Preds fashion by spreading some Gold and giving back to Smashville," Preds Community Relations Coordinator Taylor Klein said. "It's a top priority of the Preds Foundation to provide plenty of opportunities for the Preds staff to stay engaged with the community and give back by volunteering their time with a staff goal of 8,000 hours of service each year."

Over the five-day event, more than 130 volunteers from the Predators organization entered the Nashville community and drove impact. By partnering with 20 different organizations throughout the week, Preds staff members completed over 350 total hours of service.
The highlights were endless and the impact was invaluable. The week began on a high-note - with a trip to the Nashville Humane Society for some quality time with the puppies - and ended with painting a Preds themed pavilion at Haywood Lane Apartments.

In between, members of the Preds organization provided lunch for five local elementary schools, partnered with Metro Nashville Police Department for some fun and games in the Edgehill community, wrapped 9,800 diapers for the Nashville Diaper Connection and planted a Preds themed garden at BELL Garden. More than a dozen members of the Preds staff were also deployed to Waverly, Tennessee, for flood relief aid, and a number of other staff provided 100 supply bags to homeless members of the Nashville community.
"We were able to positively impact the community during this week in so many ways," Klein said. "The organizations that we partnered with throughout the week were extremely thankful for the time we spent with them, and it makes everything well worth it."
With extensive community involvement during the Week of Giving and throughout the summer, Preds staff has now logged 2,161 volunteer hours since July 1.
