The Predators have reached a must-win scenario.
Game 6 between the Preds and Winnipeg Jets comes tonight from Bell MTS Place with Nashville needing a victory to keep their season alive and force a Game 7.
The Predators fell to the Jets by a 6-2 final on Saturday night in Nashville to go down 3-2 in the series and face elimination for the first time in these playoffs. For the Preds, it now simply comes down to erasing the past and blocking out the future - it's all about one game, a game they fully intend on winning.
"Through the years, and certainly through this year and what we've built, I think the confidence and the belief of the guys is to answer that one question again," Predators Head Coach Peter Laviolette said Sunday. "Can we go there and win one hockey game? Are we good enough to beat the Winnipeg Jets? The answer is yes, we are. Now we've got to go there and do it."

Nashville made one lineup change in Game 5, replacing winger Scott Hartnell on the second line with forward Kevin Fiala. The Predators did not practice on Sunday before heading to Winnipeg.

Last Time Out:
Center Ryan Johansen and defenseman Yannick Weber scored for the Preds in Game 5. Skating in only his second game of the postseason, Weber's goal was his first of the playoff variety as a member of the Predators. Johansen's strike was his first-career shorthanded playoff goal.
Filip Forsberg continues to lead the Preds with 12 points, followed by Johansen with 11, and then Austin Watson, P.K. Subban and Mattias Ekholm with eight points apiece. Forsberg, Johansen and Watson all have five goals to their name; Subban, Colton Sissons, Viktor Arvidsson and Fiala have all scored on three occasions.

The Opposition:
Mark Scheifele paces the Jets with nine goals and 14 points, followed by Blake Wheeler 13 points, Dustin Byfuglien with 12 and Paul Stastny with 11. Byfuglien, Stastny and Brandon Tanev have four goals each; Wheeler and Patrik Laine have three.
Bouncing Back:
The Predators are 4-0 following a loss in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including a series-clinching Game 6 victory on the road against Colorado in the First Round. The Preds averaged 3.75 goals per game in the four victories immediately following a loss and six players have tallied at least three combined points in Nashville's four games following a loss in the playoffs: Forsberg (2g-2a), Johansen (2g-2a), Arvidsson (2g-2a), Subban (2g-2a), Sissons (1g-2a) and Nick Bonino (1g-2a). Goaltender Pekka Rinne is 4-0 in such games in the 2018 playoffs with a 1.58 goals-against average, .949 save percentage and one shutout.
