The Good Guys

Saros owns a 19.91 goals saved above average (GSAA) since Nov. 12, the best mark in the League (per Natural Stat Trick). GSAA measures the goals a goalie prevented given his save percentage and shots faced vs. the NHL average save percentage on the same number of shots.

He became the quickest player in Predators history to reach the 500-point mark, doing so in his 601st career game Dec. 31 at Vegas. He's up to 34 career three-point games, the most in Predators history.
  • Roman Josi has 35 points (11g-24a) in his last 37 games after tallying three assists in Saturday's win over Los Angeles. His 27 assists are the most by a single Predators skater this season and the third-most by an NHL defensemen. His 39 points (12g-27a) are tied for the eighth-most among all NHL defensemen in 2022-23.
  • Matt Duchene has 15 points (7g-8a) in his last 18 games. He scored in four straight contests from Dec. 17-23 (4g) and had a five-game point streak from Dec. 15-23 (4g-1a).
  • Cody Glass owns 13 points (4g-9a) in his last 20 games following his two-assist performance on Saturday vs. Los Angeles. Glass has established career highs in assists (11) and points (16) this season.

The Other Guys

The Jets have won two straight, evening their record to 2-2-0 on a five-game road trip that will conclude in Nashville. Former Predators goaltender David Rittich backstopped the Jets to a 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.
Kyle Connor leads all Jets skaters with 57 points (24g-33a). Mark Schiefele has the team lead in goals with 29, while Josh Morrissey has a team-high 43 assists - the second-most among all NHL defensemen. Morrissey's 51 points (8g-43a) are the third-most among league defensemen. Cole Perfetti has 28 points (7g-21a), the second-most among all NHL rookies, and his 21 assists are the most in the league by a rookie this season. Connor Hellebuyck is tied for third among NHL goaltenders with a .924 save percentage.

All-Time Meetings

The Predators are 27-18-(1)-5 all-time against the Jets franchise, including a 16-9-(0)-0 record at Bridgestone Arena. This is the second of four matchups between Nashville and Winnipeg in 2022-23 and the first of two at home.
Nashville is 0-0-1 against Winnipeg this season, dropping the first contest in overtime, 2-1 on Dec. 15. Saros helped the Predators earn a point by stopping 39 of 41 shots.

Last Time Out

Nashville improved to 12-7-3 at home in 2022-23 with Saturday's come-from-behind win over Los Angeles. The Predators are now 1-0-1 against the Kings this season after losing the teams' first contest this season in a shootout on Oct. 18.
Nashville scored twice in the opening 39 seconds of the game; it was the quickest the team has jumped out to a 2-0 lead in franchise history, and the Predators' opening two goals forced the Kings to pull goalie Pheonix Copley just 39 seconds in. Nashville became the 15th team in NHL history to score twice in the opening 39 seconds of a game.
After falling down 3-2, the Predators scored three goals in the third period to win the game. Eight different Nashville skaters recorded a point, with six tallying at least two points, led by Josi's three (3a).
