The penultimate game of the regular season has arrived for the Nashville Predators, and they'll have a chance to clinch their spot in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs once more.
The Preds host the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at Bridgestone Arena to start the final two games of the regular season, and a win for Nashville would see them take their place in the postseason for the seventh-consecutive year.
In order to do so, however, the Predators will have to defeat a League-leading Carolina team they have yet to beat this season. If Nashville is able to clinch their spot, they'll face the Hurricanes in Round One, but the Preds aren't getting ahead of themselves.

"We spent some time today prior to practice about some situations that we feel like we've got to be a little bit better in versus the last few games that we played them," Preds Head Coach John Hynes said Friday on preparing his team to face the Hurricanes. "We had a good practice here, and as we talked to the team about, it's not looking too far ahead. We're focused on Carolina, and we've got to find a way to win some games here."
"This is exciting," Preds defenseman Alexandre Carrier said of the situation his team is in. "Two months ago, people weren't saying we were going to make the playoffs… but we're in playoff mode already, because Carolina, if we're in then we're facing them, so it's going to be exciting. Last Saturday against Dallas, the building was packed, fans were crazy, so it's going to be exciting again."
Preds forward Colton Sissons returned to the Nashville lineup during Wednesday's loss in Columbus after missing Monday's game with an upper-body injury. Defenseman Dante Fabbro was back for the Predators after a 13-game absence due to injury, but forward Viktor Arvidsson did not play Wednesday and remains day-to-day.
Forward Nick Cousins, as well as defensemen Matt Benning and Erik Gudbranson were among the players scratched for the Preds on Wednesday in Columbus.
