SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers announced today that the Florida Panthers Alumni Association has awarded more than $5,000 in total to 10 youth hockey players from five different associations for the Fall youth hockey travel season.

This fall period, the players that were awarded the scholarship funds were from five different associations including: Jr. Panthers, Golden Wolves, Palm Beach Hawks, Miami Toros, and Palm Beach Breakers.
"The Florida Panthers Alumni Association is constantly seeking to support youth hockey in South Florida," said Alumni Association President Randy Moller. "We hope these scholarships can impact deserving young hockey players' passions for the sport of hockey, helping them continue to grow and learn the game."
The awardees come from travel and high school programs around the Florida area and were granted based on academic achievement, financial need and merit and community involvement, rather than their skills or talent on the ice.
Through their yearly scholarships and grants program, the Alumni Association has distributed over $300,000.00 to over 1,200 eligible individuals and numerous South Florida youth hockey associations, plus benefiting team sponsors and supporters through speaking engagements, hospital visits, promotional tours, player clinics/appearances and charity hockey games.
