draft 2018

Good morning and welcome to "Cats & Coffee," a weekly segment presented by Community Coffee in which we get you caffeinated with an exciting look at the week ahead for the Florida Panthers.
The future stars of the Florida Panthers will head South this week for the team's annual development camp, which will be held from Tuesday, June 26 to Friday, June 29 at the Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs, Fla.

A major stepping stone in the career of any NHL hopeful, the four-day camp is meant to bring prospects closer together and expose them to the rigorous conditioning programs of a professional hockey player, including both on and off-ice workout sessions.
All six of Florida's picks from last weekend's NHL Draft will attend the camp, including forwards Grigori Denisenko (15th overall), Serron Noel, (34th overall) and Logan Hutsko (89th overall). In addition to recent draftees, former high picks such as forward Owen Tippett (10th overall, 2017), defenseman Max Gildon (66th overall, 2017) and goaltender Samuel Montembeault (77th overall, 2015) also highlight this year's roster.
"I'm looking forward to it a lot," said Gildon, who attended his first camp last summer. "It's going to be a lot of fun. There's not going to be as many nerves this time around."
The best thing about development camp? You're invited!
All on-ice workouts throughout the week are free and open to the public, so make sure to come out to the rink to catch a glimpse of the future. Also, if you're lucky, you might even be able to score a few autographs or snap a couple photos.
The full development camp roster can be found HERE.
The on-ice practice sessions are set for the following days and times:
Tuesday, June 26: 2:15 P.M. - 3:10 P.M. (Team Red), 3:50 P.M. - 4:45 P.M. (Team Blue)

FREE AGENCY

Having already filled one of their very few offseason needs by acquiring top-six forward Mike Hoffman from the San Jose Sharks last week, the Panthers aren't expecting to make too big a splash in free agency, which opens this Sunday, July 1 at noon.
"We're going to sit tight and be patient," Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon said. "It's kind of nice to go into free agency and not have to open your checkbook… We're in a good spot. We'll address whatever needs we might have and see what the price is."

Stay tuned to FloridaPanthers.com for all of your free agent updates this weekend.
