EDMONTON, AB - Connor McDavid has some company headed to South Florida.
The final 12 selections for NHL All-Star Weekend were announced Thursday and two of them were Oilers as Stuart Skinner and Leon Draisaitl will join McDavid on Team Pacific.
Skinner will form a goaltending tandem with fellow rookie Logan Thompson of the Vegas Golden Knights. The Edmonton native is 12-10-2 with a 2.96 goals-against average and .914 save percentage in 26 appearances with the Oilers this season.
Skinner's save percentage is tops among Pacific Division netminders and he becomes the first Oilers goaltender to be selected for the all-star festivities since Tommy Salo in 2002.
Draisaitl was behind only McDavid in the NHL scoring race with 70 points (26 goals, 44 assists) heading into Thursday night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Florida Panthers are hosting NHL All-Star Weekend Feb. 4-5 at FLA Live Arena.
