The Edmonton Oilers announced today further details of the NHL Centennial Greatest Team Celebration coming to Rogers Place on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 6:00 PM (5:00 PM doors). The event will welcome fans in a special theatre bowl configuration of the arena with the stage located at centre ice under the Rogers Place scoreboard.

The NHL Centennial Greatest Team Celebration will be hosted by former Hockey Night in Canada Host (1971-1987) Dave Hodge and Sportsnet's John Shannon. Members of the Oilers 1984-85 Stanley Cup Championship team, including Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Paul Coffey, Glenn Anderson, Grant Fuhr, Glen Sather and Kevin Lowe, will be joined onstage by special musical acts. Opponents from the 1984-85 season including alumni from the Calgary Flames, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets and Philadelphia Flyers will also participate and share their thoughts and reflections on the NHL team voted the greatest of all time.

Due to anticipated demand, access to tickets was through a public Priority Draw which closed in November. Fans who entered the Priority Draw will receive an email Monday, December 11 advising them if they were randomly selected for the opportunity to purchase tickets to the event, and if so, the date and time of their purchase window.

"We knew Priority Draw interest would be very high for this unique event, and we were once again blown away by the passion of our fans," said Bob Nicholson, Oilers Entertainment Group CEO & Vice Chair. "For the 1984-85 team to be voted the NHL Centennial Greatest Team amongst the greatest teams to ever play the game, was truly an honour for both the franchise and the players, but even more so, a wonderful opportunity to share this accomplishment with the fans who voted and have supported the Oilers for many years."

The Oilers emerged from more than 3.6 million votes through interactive digital and mobile programs from April 13 to May 25 as the Greatest Team of All Time as part of the NHL's centennial celebration. The 96 Cup winners since the League's inaugural season in 1917-18 competed in head-to-head voting. The Oilers had a remarkable four teams in the Top 10.

Net proceeds from the NHL Centennial Greatest Team Celebration will be directed toward the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) in support of the Dave Semenko legacy project. Semenko was a legendary Oiler and integral member of the 1984-85 Championship team, who passed away in 2017 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

The Edmonton Oilers will be hosting a media availability in Toronto later today with Wayne Gretzky, Paul Coffey, Kevin Lowe and Mike Krushelnyski.
