EDMONTON, AB - Jesse Puljujarvi was absent from Oilers morning skate on Friday at Rogers Place ahead of tonight's meeting with the Colorado Avalanche.
Head Coach Jay Woodcroft confirmed in his morning media availability that the Finnish forward will miss out on Friday's game due to illness. Kailer Yamamoto flanked Evander Kane and Connor McDavid on the top line in Puljujarvi's absence.
Ryan McLeod took reps on the left wing of the second line, with Zach Hyman swapping to the right beside regular centre Leon Draisaitl. Mike Smith was in the starter's crease and has won seven straight starts and is 9-0-1 in his last 10 games with a 1.70 goals-against average and .948 save percentage.
