"I feel good," said Pouliot. "That was a long three, four weeks. It feels good to be back, being back in the mix and just practicing with the guys is a nice feeling. Tomorrow should be fun."
Pouliot had his struggles before his injury, scoring just five goals and adding five assists in 51 games.
"We've got to face the facts that he's struggled this year to this point," said Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan. "Perhaps this break will allow him to reset a lot of things and get himself going.
"Do we expect him to be at the top of his game without having played in three weeks? No, but we want to see an energized individual come back and if he can get his game back and build it for the last seven, eight, 10 games then at least we'll get something out of him. He wants to do that. He's a great individual, just he's struggled this year for whatever reason and maybe this is a reset opportunity."
Pouliot says he is excited to jump back in and try and make an impact with his new linemates, David Desharnais and Zack Kassian.
"They both skate, they both pass the puck and they both get in on the forecheck," said Pouliot. "For me, it's the same thing and it's going to be hopefully good chemistry and things go well from there."
