After winning a gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Championship with the U.S., Caleb Jones' eyes are on an Ed Chynoweth Cup. The Oilers fourth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Draft upset the Prince George Cougars in six games in Round 1. Jones had six helpers.
In the second round against the Kelowna Rockets, the Winterhawks dropped the first two games of the series in Kelowna but rebounded back at Veterans Memorial Coliseum with a 4-2 win on Tuesday. Aapeli Rasanen and his Sioux City Musketeers made it their quest to capture the Anderson Cup as United States Hockey League regular season champions. Now, the goal is to secure a Clark Cup, awarded to the post-season winners. Rasanen - alongside compatriot, linemate and valued draft prospect Eeli Tolvanen - will begin the crusade Friday in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Des Moines Buccaneers.
