EDMONTON, AB - With six goals and 12 assists over nine games, Bakersfield Condors forward Seth Griffith has been named the American Hockey League Player of the Month for January.
Headlined by a five-assist performance against the Tucson Roadrunners on Jan. 19, Griffith notched a point in each of the nine games he suited up for, helping the Condors achieve a 6-0-3-0 record. The 29-year-old completed the month with seven multi-point efforts, a plus-10 rating and now ranks eighth in AHL scoring with 13 goals, 25 assists and 38 points in 28 outings.
Griffith is currently riding a 10-game point streak dating back to Dec. 29, scoring seven goals and 13 assists over that span. After a 13-game scoring stretch from Oct. 16 to Nov. 17 earlier in the 2021-22 campaign, the Ontario product is also the first AHLer to register multiple double-digit scoring streaks in the same season since Frank Vatrano with the Providence Bruins in 2015-16.
The fifth-round selection of the Boston Bruins in the 2012 NHL Draft has appeared in one Oilers game this season and has collected eight goals, 11 assists and 19 points in 80 career NHL matches.
