Head Coach Todd McLellan said the blueliner is feeling under the weather.
"He reported back and he's not feeling well," said McLellan. "A little under the weather with the flu or whatever it might be."
McLellan didn't rule Sekera out for Thursday's match against the Los Angeles Kings.
"We'll see how he is in the morning."
The 30-year-old has four goals and 13 assists for 17 points in the 2016-17 campaign.
