EDMONTON, AB - Rock & role.
That sums up the Edmonton Oilers third line of Warren Foegele, Derek Ryan and Zack Kassian: rock-steady role players.
Through six early games in the 2021-22 season, the unit has combined to score five goals and nine points, carving the ice with quickness through the neutral zone and bruising the boards with heavy forechecking in the offensive end.
"We're definitely off to a good start but there's still a lot of hockey to be played," Kassian, who has already matched his point total from last season with five in 22 fewer games, said.
"We're happy with the way the line has clicked. That's important for team success. You need more than one or two guys to create offence and you need depth to win in this League. We definitely feel good where our game is at but at the same time, we know there's a lot of runway left and we need to continue to build."
