EDMONTON, AB - Help is on the way.
Warren Foegele skated with the main group yesterday for the first time since Edmonton's win on Nov. 26 against the New York Rangers, while today, it was Ryan McLeod who made his return to the ice in an optional practice at Rogers Place.
"I just kind of wanted to get out with the group today, shoot on the goalie for the first time in probably three weeks," McLeod said after the skate. "It's going to be a bit, still don't really know a timeline yet, but progressing really well so I'm happy with it."
McLeod was coming off one of his best games of the season, picking up three assists in the 4-3 win over the Rangers before missing the next 10 games with a lower-body injury.
"Yeah, it's tough," McLeod said about the unfortunate timing. "Obviously you never want to get hurt or anything, especially when you feel like a little bit of momentum is coming your way, but I think i'll come back even stronger. So I'm looking forward to it."
