EDMONTON, AB - Through the eyes of Head Coach Ken Hitchcock, his position as the Oilers bench boss until the conclusion of the 2018-19 NHL season hasn't changed.
Hitchcock, along with the coaching staff of Glen Gulutzan, Trent Yawney, and Manny Viveiros, are keeping their attention focused on the dressing room and the Blue and Orange's final push to the end of the campaign.
"I see it the same as we did before. This is a very unique situation for all of us," Hitchcock said Friday morning. "We're going to coach our butts off until the end of the year, then it's going to be 100 percent in somebody else's court. They're going to make a decision on what they want to do from a general manager standpoint, then the pecking order is that the general manager gets to hire whoever he wants to."
