CORAL SPRINGS, FL - After an off-day Thursday, the Oilers were back on the ice for practice Friday at Panthers Ice Den ahead of Saturday's matinee matchup vs. Florida.
The team is coming off a 5-3 defeat to Tampa Bay on Wednesday to open the five-game road trip that saw them out-shoot the Lightning 30-23 and battle back from a 4-1 deficit to get within a goal midway through the third period before an empty-netter sealed their fate
"There was a lot of good in that game in Tampa Bay and we tried to mine that game for a lot of the good things that the team did," Head Coach Jay Woodcroft said after Friday's skate.
"That said, there were moments that we can be better and that was the message here today. We know we can be better in certain moments and we know we can go a little bit farther here in terms of pushing our pace of play, pushing our details. We had a good practice today and we're prepared to play a very good team in the Florida Panthers tomorrow afternoon."
