His first career game. His epic first career goal. First career hat trick. The Heritage Classic.
There is a multitude of memories former Oilers winger Jordan Eberle could identify as most special with the Oilers.
It was the 2016-17 season, however, which saw the Oilers make the playoffs for the first time since 2005-06 that he reveres most.
"I think everyone goes back to their first game but to get an opportunity to play in the playoffs last year, that's something that I'm definitely not going to regret," said Eberle, who was traded to the New York Islanders Thursday for Ryan Strome.
"It would've really sucked to have gone through my time in Edmonton without a playoff opportunity and last year's run was awesome. It was fun."
Ever since he joined the organization, Eberle had heard about how passionate the city of Edmonton is during the playoffs.
He was not let down.
"Coming into that city, people had talked about the playoffs and how great it was in '06," Eberle said.
"To have a chance to have gone through that, I'm very happy."
