The Flyers, 1-5-2 in their past eight games, had an optional morning skate that didn't include forward line combinations, but it's likely rookie forward Travis Konecny will play his first game at right wing this season. At practice Wednesday he was on a line with center Claude Giroux and left wing Michael Raffl. Konecny has played left wing all season but he's a right-shot forward and said he played most of his junior career on the right side, so he didn't expect much of an adjustment. "Just the other side of the rink," he said. "It's my forehand side so it'll probably be a little easier coming down the wing. We'll see how it goes. … Just muscle memory. You go back to the right side, it's like riding a bike." Konecny has two goals in his past five games; before that, he went 22 games without a goal and was a healthy scratch for one. "Just want to look at a different option there for him, putting a player on his natural wing," coach Dave Hakstol said. "Changes things up a little bit for him." Giroux said he's looking forward to playing with Konecny, which he hasn't done this season. "I think he competes pretty hard," he said. "Every night you know what you're going to get form him. He's going to go battle. He's got hockey sense. He's definitely fun to watch."
