EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) is excited to announce that Myrna Khan will be joining the organization as Executive Director.
Born and raised in Oil Country as a passionate Oilers fan, Ms. Khan is an accomplished executive and community steward with an impressive track record of success. An unparalleled community leader and relationship builder, Ms. Khan brings over 25 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, external relations, corporate sustainability, strategic planning and change management to her role. As a leader in corporate sustainability, she spent over a decade guiding some of Canada's largest companies.
"We are thrilled to have Myrna join the EOCF as our new Executive Director connecting her two great passions in life, the Oilers and community building," said Corey Smith, EOCF Board Chair. "As a leader in the industry with a proven track record of success, we are looking forward to working with Myrna on our next strategic plan that will build off our longstanding support from Edmonton Oilers fans and the community at large, while also positioning the EOCF to be an agent for transformational, positive impact in our community. After an extensive search process, we are thrilled to have found a leader with the skill set, experience and passion to lead us forward."
Before joining the EOCF, Ms. Khan held senior leadership positions in a variety of organizations including the CN Rail, Canadian Business for Social Responsibility, United Way of the Alberta Capital Region, and most recently MacEwan University's first Vice President of University Relations.
She holds an MBA from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology with distinction from the University of Alberta, and she is member of the CN Edmonton Community Board as well as a board member of the Edmonton Downtown Business Association (EDBA).
Starting her new role on January 9, 2023, she succeeds the previous EOCF Executive Director, Natalie Minckler, who retired this past September after a long and successful tenure with the organization.
