Horvat, who is second on the Canucks with 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) in 28 games this season, was scheduled to see a specialist Thursday to determine how long he will be out. Coach Travis Green said it could be as long as six weeks.
Green wouldn't reveal how he would set up his forward lines but said Alexander Burmistrov will play after being a healthy scratch for three straight games and 10 of the past 13.
Brian Elliott is expected back in goal for the Flyers after making 24 saves in a 4-2 win at the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday. The Flyers have won the first two games of their three-game Western Canada road trip after losing their previous 10 games (0-5-5).

Players to watch

Flyers right wing Jakub Voracek has four assists in the past two games, and 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in his past 10.
Canucks goalie Jacob Markstrom, who is expected to start, had his first NHL shutout Tuesday, making 30 saves in a 3-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes.
