Florida can move into wild card berth with sixth straight win; Philadelphia coming off back-to-back losses

The Game

The Florida Panthers will try to extend their winning streak to a season-best six games when they play the Philadelphia Flyers at BB&T Center on Sunday.

The Panthers are one point behind the Carolina Hurricanes for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference.

The Flyers are playing for the second straight day; they lost 7-6 in a shootout at the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday and are 0-1-1 in their past two games. Philadelphia trails the Washington Capitals by two points for first place in the Metropolitan Division and leads the Pittsburgh Penguins by one for second.


Players to watch

Flyers forward Claude Giroux had a goal and an assist against the Lightning on Saturday, giving him 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) in his past 12 games.

Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov has 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) in his past 14 games.
