Two days earlier, Toffoli had his first NHL hat trick in his final game with the Los Angeles Kings, a 3-1 win against the Colorado Avalanche in the 2020 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at the U.S. Air Force Academy on Saturday.
Vancouver, 2-4-1 in its past seven games following a five-game winning streak, is in third place in the Pacific Division, one point behind the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights, who are tied for the division lead, and one point ahead of the Calgary Flames and Arizona Coyotes.
The Wild, 1-2-1 in their past four games after going 6-2-0 in their previous eight games, are seven points behind the Flames and Coyotes for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. Minnesota seeks its first win under coach Dean Evason, who replaced the fired Bruce Boudreau on Friday.
