After collecting eight out of a possible 12 points on a six-game road trip, the Nashville Predators are finally back in their own building tonight to begin a three-game homestand, first with a visit from the Washington Capitals, presented by UnitedHealthcare. It's the second and final meeting between the two clubs this season; the Preds defeated the Caps 6-3 on New Year's Eve in D.C.
Nashville concluded their road trip on Sunday afternoon in Carolina with a 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes. The result ended a seven-game point streak for the Preds, and while there was disappointment in the effort, there was also a readiness to get back to Bridgestone Arena once more.
"It was a long trip, just even with the break in the road games, but it's good to get back in our building," Preds Head Coach Peter Laviolette said Monday. "We had a good practice today. We don't get to practice too much and work on some things, and all of its positive."

Defenseman Yannick Weber, who remains on Injured Reserve, practiced once again on Monday and skated on a defensive pairing with Dan Hamhuis, signaling his return could come soon.
Update: Weber has been activated from Injured Reserve.

NSH Recap: Forsberg tallies twice in 6-3 loss

Ryan Johansen paces the Preds with 40 points on the season, followed by defensemen Roman Josi and Mattias Ekholm with 34 points apiece. Forsberg leads the club with 18 goals; Viktor Arvidsson and Craig Smith have 14 goals each.
The Opposition:
Washington will play their second game in as many nights this evening after suffering a 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Monday. Pheonix Copley started in net for the Capitals last night, meaning Braden Holtby is likely to get the nod tonight in Nashville.
