Prince, who had ankle surgery in August, returned from a conditioning stint with Bridgeport of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. He had two assists in four AHL games.
The Islanders are 1-3-0 in their past four games and 2-5-1 in their past eight.
Goaltender Ryan Miller will start for the Ducks, who look to avoid their fourth straight loss (0-2-1), which would be their longest losing streak this season.
