To say Rasmussen got his NHL career off to a good start might be an understatement. Called up to the Chicago Blackhawks from Rockford of the American Hockey League after Marcus Kruger was injured, Rasmussen scored on his first shot in his NHL debut Dec. 8, 2015, against Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators.
He had three goals and an assist in his first seven NHL games, all of his points coming in Blackhawks victories. Rasmussen's fourth and final goal of the season was a game-winner Feb. 28, 2016, against the Washington Capitals. He finished his rookie season with nine points in 44 games.

A smooth-moving, big-bodied center (6-foot-3, 205 pounds), Rasmussen was second on Rockford with seven goals and 14 points at the time of his call-up to Chicago. He had a six-game point streak from Nov. 25-Dec. 6, 2015, just before the move.
Nicknamed "Moose," Rasmussen doesn't play an overly physical game but uses his size to his advantage in front of the goal. He will drive to the net and win puck battles along the boards and is a solid two-way player who is effective on the penalty kill.
Rasmussen signed as a free agent with the Blackhawks on June 10, 2014. Making his North American debut in 2014-15, he had 13 goals and 27 points in 73 games with Rockford and played seven Calder Cup games.
He was signed by the Blackhawks after a solid 2013-14 season, during which he had 18 goals and 40 points for Vaxjo and finished 10th in the Swedish Elite League in scoring. He played for Sweden's bronze medal-winning team at the 2014 World Championship, collecting one assist in nine games.
Rasmussen also won bronze with Sweden at the 2010 World Junior Championship, where he had two goals and three points in six games.
