RALEIGH, N.C. - Through seven seasons under Tom Dundon's ownership, the Carolina Hurricanes have enjoyed their most consistently successful on-ice run in franchise history. A perennial Stanley Cup contender, the Canes climbed from the depths of the league standings to win three division titles and qualify for seven straight postseasons (and counting) during Dundon's tenure, all while the team began to reach new heights off the ice as well.

Some highlights:

  • When Dundon bought the team, the Hurricanes were in the process of missing the playoffs for the ninth consecutive season, averaging 83 points in the eight full NHL seasons during that span. The team has made the playoffs and won at least one round in all seven seasons since that time, averaging 108 points in the five full seasons played during that time.
  • The Hurricanes have won 10 playoff series in that seven-year period, making three trips to the Eastern Conference Final
  • The Hurricanes ranked 29th of 31 NHL teams in attendance the year Dundon bought the team, averaging 13,321 fans per game. The team ranked in the NHL’s top 10 in attendance in 2024-25, selling out every home game at Lenovo Center with an average of 18,795 fans. Including playoff games, the team carries a consecutive sellout streak of 117 games entering the 2025-26 season.
  • The Hurricanes' season ticket base for the 2024-25 season was up 117% compared to 2017-18, when Dundon bought the team. The team’s season ticket revenue is up 227% and average gate revenue is up 179% in that span. Annual Hurricanes suite lease revenue is up 106% and suite rental revenue is up 295%.
  • The Hurricanes’ annual corporate sponsorship revenue is up 168% in the seven full seasons since Dundon bought the club.
