TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Less than 24 hours against opening the NHL Prospect Tournament with a win over the St. Louis Blues, the Carolina Hurricanes will be back in action against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Hurricanes topped the Blues 4-1 in Friday's tournament opener, while the Blackhawks fell 4-3 to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
After the victory, head coach Mike Vellucci isn't tinkering too much with what was a winning formula.
"Every game is different," he said. "We want to get a fast start again."

The Hurricanes scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the first period against St. Louis to take a 2-0 lead, and they never looked back.
Much of the lineup, including goaltender Jeremy Helvig, will remain the same today against Chicago.
"Helvig held us in there in the second period. He was outstanding with several big saves. We started getting loose with the puck, and he bailed us out," Vellucci said on Friday. "His side-to-side movement and anticipation were outstanding. He made several side-to-side moving saves where he had to anticipate where the guy was going with the puck. Very impressed with his effort today."
Two healthy scratches from a day ago - forward Matthew Struthers and defenseman Riley Bruce - will draw into the lineup today, with Struthers playing left wing on the fourth line and Bruce claiming the right spot on the third defensive pair. The rest of the Canes' lineup remains the same.
"Just try to make all the stops. Try not to get down a goal and let them get the momentum back. I just tried to stop every puck I could," Helvig said of his mindset on Friday. "Just get experience and playing time to get ready for my first year pro."
