RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to contract extensions with Play-by-Play Announcer John Forslund and Television Analyst Tripp Tracy. In addition, Mike Maniscalco will continue to serve as the team's television and web host.

"We are lucky to have one of the best in the business in John Forslund calling our games on FOX Sports Carolinas and 99.9 the Fan," said Waddell. "This will mark the 21st season that John and Tripp have passionately brought the game into the homes of our fans and represented our organization in the community. We're excited for another season of entertaining broadcasts with John, Tripp and Mike."
Forslund is in his 25th season as the television play-by-play voice with the Hurricanes franchise and his 29th year overall with the club. He first joined the Hartford Whalers in 1991 as public relations director and took over television play-by-play duties in the 1994-95 season. Prior to joining the organization, Forslund spent seven seasons handling broadcast duties for the American Hockey League's Springfield Indians from 1984-91. In 1989, he was named the winner of the Ken McKenzie Award, given annually to the top publicist/announcer in the AHL. In addition to calling Hurricanes games on FOX Sports Carolinas, Forslund also serves as a play-by-play announcer for nationally-televised games on the NBC family of networks. In 2018, he was named North Carolina Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association.
Tracy is in his 21st season as television analyst. A former goaltender, Tracy was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After completing four seasons at Harvard University, Tracy signed a free agent contract with the Hurricanes in August 1996. He spent two seasons with the organization, playing for Richmond (ECHL), Springfield (AHL), New Haven (AHL) and dressing for one game with Carolina (NHL). Tracy retired from his playing career in 1998 and accepted a position with CNN before returning to the organization for the 1998-99 season.
Maniscalco is in his fourth season as the team's television and web host, serving as host of Hurricanes LIVE! Prior to all of the Hurricanes' games on FOX Sports Carolinas and Southeast, as well as producing video content for CarolinaHurricanes.com. He is a 12-year veteran of sports media in the Triangle, having previously hosted the popular pregame and postgame shows surrounding the team's radio broadcasts from 2007-16.
