Predators Reduce Roster to 26

Assign Three to Milwaukee and Girard, Trenin to Junior Clubs

Nashville, Tenn. (October 4, 2016) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Tuesday that the club has assigned forwards Pontus Aberg and Anthony Richard, and goaltender Juuse Saros, to Milwaukee (AHL). The team also assigned 2016 second-round Entry Draft selection Samuel Girard (Shawinigan, QMJHL) and 2015 second-round Entry Draft selection Yakov Trenin (Gatineau, QMJHL) to their junior teams.

Nashville's training camp roster is now at 26 players - 16 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders. An updated roster is available here.

The Nashville Predators will play their second preseason home game on Tuesday, October 4, against the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7:00 p.m. CT at Bridgestone Arena. The Preds close out the preseason on Saturday, October 8, against the Lightning in Tampa at 6:00 p.m. Both games can be heard on the Predators flagship station, 102.5 The Game. Nashville opens the regular season with a doubleheader against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday, October 14, and Saturday, October 15. Friday's contest will be played at Bridgestone Arena and shown live on NBCSN.
