Hockey is back, and there's a double serving to start.
The Nashville Predators begin their preseason schedule today with their annual doubleheader against the Florida Panthers at 2:30 p.m. (CT) and 6 p.m. from the BB&T Center in Sunrise.
It'll be the first time the Preds have been on the ice as a team since May, with rosters for both games likely to have a mix of veteran skaters and those trying to prove themselves worthy of further opportunities as training camp rolls along. With 20 players dressed for each game - and only 52 in total on the Nashville roster - a majority of the Preds will dress for one of the contests today in South Florida.
Full rosters for both games are available here

For those who will participate in one of the two outings today, it's simply a chance to get back the feel of the game after a long offseason - and a chance to collect a win in the process.
"It's just certain situations, certain reads, the timing, just kind of things you haven't don't in a few months," Preds defenseman Yannick Weber said. "I think something like today, you can get the rhythm, realize what you can do, what you can't do and it's also a game where you can make some mistakes and recognize those habits you want to get rid of."
"I just want to get my legs under me and play confident, see the ice well and make some plays," Nashville center Colton Sissons said. "Hopefully I'll be playing quite a bit in the preseason, and I just want to go out there and prove my worth again, show what I'm capable of and keep getting better."
