Minutes after the deal was officially announced, Kasimir Kaskisuo (kaz-AH-mear kass-KA-soo-oh) was already soliciting assistance from some creative followers.
Nashville signed the 27-year-old Finnish goaltender to a one-year, two-way contract on Tuesday, and after expressing his excitement to join the organization on Twitter, Kaskisuo asked fans of the Predators and the Milwaukee Admirals to design his new gear.
The netminder, who made his NHL debut last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs and appeared in 27 games with the AHL's Toronto Marlies, put out the challenge in a tweet with a blank set of leg pads, a glove and a blocker for fans to use.

Kaskisuo, who is on both Twitter and Instagram with the handle @Kaskisuo, wants fans to use the hashtag #KazPads on both Twitter and Instagram to make sure he sees the designs.

A native of Vantaa, Finland, Kaskisuo is quite savvy with social media, including on YouTube where he has his own channel with more than 17,000 subscribers. Of particular interest to Preds and Ads fans will be his latest entry in his Offseason Vlog, which includes a behind-the-scenes look into the discussions with his agent before he officially signs a contract with Nashville.
"I'm fired up," Kaskisuo says in the video of joining the Preds. "Very excited to sign with Nashville… I can't wait to get started with Nashville and feel like it's going to be a pretty big opportunity for me."
Undrafted, Kaskisuo spent his youth hockey career in the Jokerit Helsinki program before moving to North America to play for the NAHL's Minnesota Wilderness in 2013-14. He then played two seasons of college hockey for the University of Minnesota Duluth and broke several school goaltending records, including career goals-against average (2.10) and save percentage (.920).
In 95 career AHL performances with Toronto and the Chicago Wolves, Kaskisuo is 46-32-10 with a 2.65 goals-against average and eight shutouts, including a career-best four during the 2018-19 season.
