Bones From Nashville Predators Origin Come Home

Make no bones about it, you'll want to see this.
Before the Nashville Predators received their official name, they had a logo, a saber-toothed tiger, modeled after a fang and a foreleg bone of the extinct animal, found in the summer of 1971 at the construction site of the current UBS Tower on Deaderick Street in downtown Nashville.
And now, after being on display in the tower's lobby for decades, the bones have made their way to Bridgestone Arena for all to see.

"We have the most unique game experience in all of sports, and bringing something like this to life in our building is just one more thing for people to engage with, enjoy, study," Preds President and CEO Sean Henry said. "Ideally, it'll drive a few kids to spend some time with the history of this area, and when you look at it, our team name really is a result of the real activity that happened here thousands of years ago. That's just one more fun element that people can bring about in our games."

The objects are quite a sight, so the next time you find yourself cheering on the Preds, take a moment to stop by and admire a piece of Nashville history. The bones will be on display in the Nashville Visitor Center in the Arena tower before finding a more permanent home within the building soon.
