Nashville, Tenn. (October 29, 2016) - U.S. Figure Skating has announced its host cities for the 2018 qualifying and synchronized qualifying seasons. Among the various stops is Ford Ice Center, which will host the Eastern Great Lakes Regional Figure Skating Championships from Oct. 18 - 22, 2017.
"It feels great to win this event," Olympic Gold Medalist and Principal of the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy based at Ford Ice Center Scott Hamilton said. "I won Juveniles, Intermediates, Novice and Juniors at Eastern Great Lakes Regional Competitions. I'm excited for Nashville to host the first qualifying competition of the 2018 Olympic season!"
This is the first-year Ford Ice Center has been involved with U.S. Figure Skating and to be chosen as a stop on the Championship schedule is an honor.
