Panthers, City of Coral Springs Extend Land Lease for Panthers IceDen

Panthers Announce New Investments in Capital Expenditures, Community Programs

SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers and the City of Coral Springs announced today that they have agreed to terms on an updated lease agreement for the Florida Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs, Florida. Currently used as the team's practice facility, the Panthers IceDen is home to Panthers hockey, figure skating, youth, adult and other ice skating and activity programming welcoming more than 1 million visitors and 25,000 weekly families.

In the new agreement, the City of Coral Springs and the Florida Panthers will work together to provide a positive impact to the Coral Springs community and to local businesses and tourism in Coral Springs through tournaments and events in the area.

"We're proud to continue and invest in this public, private partnership between the Panthers and the City of Coral Springs," said Panthers IceDen General Manager Keith Fine. "This facility is a year-round hub for families, athleticism and community."

In coordination with the city, the Florida Panthers organization announced its intentions to renovate and invest in the future of the Panthers IceDen. As a part of these enhancements, a full renovation of the Panthers IceDen "Mezzanine" ice rink will take place to update the three-ice sheet facility to provide a premier facility for youth, adult & recreational hockey for years to come.

Additional investments include:

  • Creation of hockey and ice-skating programming for all ages
  • Intention to bring additional national figure skating, youth hockey and tournament events to Coral Springs
  • Intention to create an all-new Tier 1 Youth Hockey Program
  • Additional facility enhancements

"For the last 25 years the City of Coral Springs has enjoyed a great partnership with the Florida Panthers IceDen. The investment in renovations and continued community partnership is not only great for our families who enjoy the facility's programming, but also our businesses who benefit from the national, state and local tournaments it will generate," said Coral Springs City Manager Frank Babinec.
