Peterborough Petes starting goaltender and Oilers prospect Dylan Wells is a driver for his team.
The fifth round (123-overall) 2016 draft pick has an engine that doesn't stop, starting 28 of the Petes' 34 games this season, showing no rust. He's faced 1011 shots, steering aside 928 of them - good for second in the Ontario Hockey League in both respects.

Peterborough's balanced lineup, which begins in net with Wells, can step on the gas when they need. The netminder, though, can singlehandedly pump the brakes on the opposition's offence when making big saves.
He's also fuelling the team's current nine-game winning streak by kicking his game into high gear all the while picking up plenty of accolades on the way.
In a poll
evaluating the midway mark of the season by OHL media members released Wednesday, Wells was named the Eastern Conference's most impressive goaltender, getting 60 percent of the vote.
The poll made compilation comments from selected media members to reaffirm their choice.
"Much was expected of Wells when the Petes made him the first goalie selected in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection and the Petes traded veteran Matt Mancina in August to give Wells the chance to be a starter in his third season," one of the comments read. "He's not disappointed ranking among OHL leaders in all major goaltending statistics."
The title was given to Wells after he was named both the Vaughn Canadian Hockey League Goaltender of the Week and Pioneer Energy OHL Player of the Week - in one seven-day span. He earned those honours after posting a 3-0-0-0 record to go with a goals-against average of 1.95 and .945 save percentage after the week of December 18.
Wells boasts a 17-8-1-2 record this season, a 3.04 goals-against average along with a .918 save percentage. It's no wonder why he is one of the elite goaltenders in the League.
The media poll vote also deemed the Peterborough Petes the frontrunner to win the Bobby Orr Trophy as the OHL's Eastern Conference Champions, again earning 60 percent of the media's tallies.
Much of that was due to the lights-out play of Wells.
"Peterborough is a dark horse. With Dylan Wells leading the way in goal the Petes may have the deepest team from front to back in the conference."
With Wells in the driver seat of his team's bus, there's no telling where he will be able to take them.
