EDMONTON, AB - Connor McDavid continued his dominance of the NHL over the past seven days with 11 points in three games to secure the First Star of the Week honour.
The Oilers captain collected two goals in each of Edmonton's three games against the Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets, bringing him up to 48 tallies on the season, surpassing his career high of 44 from last year.
McDavid also added five assists in those three games to bump his point total up to 113 through 60 games, which is 25 more than the next top scorer -- teammate Leon Draisaitl -- and 28 ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning's Nikita Kucherov in third.
The 26-year-old centre needs 10 points to match his career high of 123 in 80 games last season.
On Saturday in Columbus, McDavid recorded his 10th game with four or more points this season, which is the most since Pittsburgh's Mario Lemieux had 16 in 1995-96, and the most by an Oiler since Wayne Gretzky had 12 in 1987-88.
