EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation is hosting another specialty night of the RE/MAX online 50/50 in support of Hockey Is For Everyone. The Oilers will once again celebrate diversity and inclusion in hockey as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday, March 29.
Hockey Is For Everyone is a National Hockey League initiative that uses the game of hockey - and the League's global influence - to drive positive social change and foster more inclusive communities. The program celebrates all hockey players, coaches, athletes and fans who are passionate about the sport, regardless of race, colour, religion, national origin, gender, disability, sexual orientation and socio-economic status.
Edmonton's Hockey Is For Everyone night will promote and share the accessibility of hockey across the entire Oilers community. Net proceeds from the online 50/50 raffle will benefit Right To Play and Spirit North, two charitable organizations who are dedicated to using the power of sport and play to help improve the overall health and well-being of underrepresented youth.

Right To Play will be directing net funds earned to programs focused on gender equity hockey for Indigenous youth in Alberta, which will provide access and remove barriers specifically for Indigenous women and girls to participate in sport while helping them build confidence. Right To Play is currently working with five Indigenous community partners in Northern Alberta to help deliver impactful programming.
Spirit North will direct net proceeds to a land-based sport and activity program for urban indigenous children and youth in Edmonton from kindergarten to grade 12. Spirit North connects, inspires and empowers children and youth through sustainable, community-led programming.
This year also marks the five-year anniversary of Pride Tape, which was created in Edmonton and is now distributed and used in 32 countries, including every province in Canada and every state in the U.S.
Oilers players will use Pride Tape during pre-game warmup to show their support. The tape is a multi-coloured, which is a physical symbol or badge of support used to promote inclusiveness in sports.
The players' sticks will be auctioned off as part of a future EOCF online charity auction, with proceeds from the auction supporting the MacEwan Centre for Sexual & Gender Diversity and its Pride Tape project.
Fans are encouraged share their experiences of respect and inclusion on and off the ice on social media using#HockeyIsForEveryone.
