EDMONTON, AB - Putting the Ed back in Edmonton.
The Oil Kings have won their third Ed Chynoweth Cup WHL title in the last 11 years as they shut out the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-0 on Monday in Game 6 of the championship series.
Jakub Demek's power-play marker in the first period and Kaiden Guhle's goal in the middle frame accounted for all the offence on the night, while Oil Kings captain Jake Neighbours assisted on both tallies. Between the pipes, Sebastian Cossa made 27 saves for his fifth shutout of the WHL playoffs.
