Heading into their sixth day of Oilers Training Camp, the group welcomed back Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Connor McDavid.
Having been absent due to their participation in the 2016 World Cup playing for Team North America, the young, dynamic duo brought back an experience to remember.
"Being a part of a best-on-best tournament like that is a great experience for myself and all the young guys," said McDavid.
"We had a great time and it was unfortunate the way it turned out but it's almost hard to be upset with how the tournament went… we had a great time and nothing but happy feelings."
With six games already under their belts, Nugent-Hopkins said he feels that he and Connor have gotten a jump-start on reaching their top playing form for the season.
"I think it's a little bit of an advantage, today on the ice I felt pretty good," said Nugent-Hopkins. "I felt like I was still in Toronto, practicing there… we got a few days off but it didn't feel like it. Still feeling pretty good, so hopefully, when the games come around, our minds are already in game shape."
