"That's one that I noticed right away," said Davidson Friday following Oilers practice. "I think that I have something to prove, maybe a little bit, but I'm excited to get into a game first and foremost."

The rearguard last suited up on November 22, against the Nashville Predators donning bleu, blanc et rouge.

"It does happen to be my old team, but at the same time, I'm just going to take it as another game."

Davidson is adamant about playing his own game and not worrying about proving anything to his former club.

"I don't want to show the Habs anything; I just want to play my game," the defenceman, who has 16 points in 114 career NHL games, said.

"I need to get off on the right foot here and it starts with Game 1."
