Gaudreau has not skated the past two days because of an illness. Coach Brad Larsen said he will be a game-time decision. If Gaudreau is unavailable, Foudy, a forward, will play. ... Sweezey could make his NHL debut for Gudbranson, a defenseman who was not at the morning skate. Sweezey, 26, was recalled from Cleveland of the American Hockey League on Nov. 19. ... Berni, a defenseman, was recalled Monday and forward Brendan Gaunce was sent to Cleveland. Berni, 22, awaits his NHL debut. ... Tarasov starts for the first time in three games. ... Laine, a forward, and Merzlikins, a goalie, participated in practice. Laine has missed the past six games, Merzlikins five. Larsen gave no updates on either.
