Goalie Cam Ward will start for the Carolina Hurricanes, who have lost three straight and four of their past six, including a 4-2 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday. The Hurricanes have scored two goals or fewer in six of their past seven games (2-4-1). "Especially when you get a few injuries, you need guys to step up," coach Bill Peters told the Hurricanes website. "Three (goals) is the magic number. You've got to be able to get to three." Carolina's struggles come after a five-game winning streak. "We've got to be desperate for a win," forward Lee Stempniak said. "We're not in a position where we can let some games slip away. [Tampa Bay is] a team that skates very well. They've got good goaltending. We've got to fight through and get more than two goals. It takes more than two goals to win in this league." Carolina is completing its third back-to-back of the season.
