Tennyson was 15 when his father told him the family was moving from Minnesota to Pleasanton, Calif. At the time, Tennyson thought his hockey career was over. He had no idea it was just beginning.
Shortly after making the move, Tennyson joined the Jr. Sharks program that was started by then-Sharks owner George Gund in 1991. Seven years later, on Dec. 18, 2014, Tennyson became the first product of that program to score an NHL goal when he scored in a 4-3 victory against the Edmonton Oilers.
