Perron scored a goal in St. Louis' 4-1 win at the Washington Capitals on Monday, extending his point streak to 11 games, the longest active run in the NHL. The win was the season-best third in a row for the Blues, who've allowed one goal in each of the three victories.
The Islanders, 8-2-0 in their past 10, will play the third of a four-game homestand. They hold the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference and trail the Pittsburgh Penguins by two points for third place in the Metropolitan Division.

Blues rookie goalie Jordan Binnington was named the NHL's Second Star for the week ending Jan. 13 after he went 3-0-0 with a 0.67 goals-against average, a .974 save percentage and one shutout.
Islanders rookie Devon Toews has played 10 NHL games since being called up from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League but is already tied for the team lead among defensemen with three goals.

The Blues did not hold a morning skate. … Islanders coach Barry Trotz said Ladd, who was injured Nov. 13, has begun skating on his own. There is no timetable for his return. Hickey is also skating on his own.
