The Scott Hamilton Skating Academy has been named a recipient of a 2017-18 U.S. Figure Skating Community Development Grant, one of six member clubs and programs to receive a $2,000 grant from U.S. Figure Skating.
The Academy, which is run out for Ford Ice Center by Olympic Gold Medalist and Nashville resident, Scott Hamilton, submitted one of 39 applications for a grant from the national governing body for figure skating in the United States.
According to U.S. Figure Skating, the Academy will utilize the grant to "expand available programming by developing a curriculum specially tailored to individuals with mental health disabilities and challenges such as autism and social anxiety disorder."
