Marleau was traded to the Penguins for a conditional 2021 third-round draft pick on Monday by the Sharks. Marleau has played 1,551 of his 1,717 NHL games and 20 of his 22 seasons with San Jose.
The Penguins have lost five straight in regulation; Pittsburgh last lost six in a row from Dec. 29, 2011-Jan. 11, 2012. Pittsburgh trails the Philadelphia Flyers by one point for second place in the Metropolitan Division.
The Sharks ended a five-game losing streak with a 3-2 win in overtime against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday.

Players to watch

Penguins forward Jason Zucker has five goals and two assists in nine games since being traded from the Minnesota Wild.
Sharks defenseman Brent Burns has three goals and eight assists in his past 13 games.
