Flyers team scope

The Philadelphia Flyers will try to extend their winning streak to five games against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday. The Flyers defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday. Defenseman Ivan Provorov scored two goals and goaltender Steve Mason made 26 saves. The Flyers are 5-5-1 on the road this season and have won two of their past three road games. Forwards Wayne Simmonds, Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek are tied for the Flyers lead with 22 points and Simmonds leads Philadelphia with 11 goals.

Predators team scope

The Predators lost in overtime to the New Jersey Devils 5-4 at home on Saturday. They had a 4-1 lead entering the third period. Predators forward Kevin Fiala scored two goals against the Devils and has three in his past two games. He's playing on a line with Mike Ribeiro and Craig Smith. "I'm very comfortable with them," Fiala said. "They're awesome players and awesome people. Ribeiro is one of the great passers in the League, and [Smith] can do both. He can shoot the puck and he can pass it too like we saw [Saturday] so it's an awesome line."

Status report

Gudas had an illness and missed the game against the Blackhawks on Saturday. … The Predators claimed forward Reid Boucher off waivers from the Devils on Saturday. "We watched a little bit of him, and our scouts obviously know a lot more than we do as coaches," Predators coach Peter Laviolette said. "Thought it would be a good opportunity for him to come in and maybe add to our lineup. Just looking at his the few games that I did watch and some of the highlights that I watched and some of his numbers, he's a guy that can really shoot the puck. He's got a great release."

Giroux has three goals and two assists in his past five games. ... Johansen has four goals and three assists in his past five games and is tied with Forsberg and Subban for the Predators lead with 16 points.
