The Stars are three points ahead of the Colorado Avalanche for the first wild card into the playoffs from the Western Conference, and five points behind the Nashville Predators and St. Louis Blues for second place in the Central Division.
The Flyers, who were eliminated from playoff contention Saturday, will try to avoid their third straight loss.

Status report

Talbot, acquired in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers on Feb. 15, will make his third start for the Flyers and second in the past three games. Elliott will start in goal against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday and Hart gets the start against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. … Khudobin will make his third straight start and play in his fourth straight game since Bishop left during the second period against the Calgary Flames on March 27.
