Janmark is a speedy skater and creative playmaker who displays a lot of confidence with the puck.
The native of Danderyd, Sweden, scored on his first NHL shot, then scored his second NHL goal on the first shot he took in his second NHL game. Given that incredible start, it's hard to believe Janmark was twice passed over in the NHL Draft.

The forward wasn't picked until his third year of eligibility, when the Detroit Red Wings selected him in the third round (No. 79) of the 2013 NHL Draft. But the Red Wings didn't hold on to Janmark for long, trading him to the Dallas Stars on March 1, 2015.
Janmark quickly made the trade look good, playing his rookie season of 2015-16 mostly on the second line and finishing with 15 goals and 29 points with a plus-12 rating in 73 games. His rating was tied for second with Anthony Duclair of the Arizona Coyotes among rookies that season. He also scored two goals and five points in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games in 2016.
Janmark missed the entire 2016-17 season because of a rare genetic bone condition in his knee. After surgery, he rejoined Dallas for the 2017-18 season and picked up where he left off; he was fourth on the Stars in goals (19), fifth in points (34) and tied for third in game-winning goals (four) in 81 games.
On Jan. 1, 2020, Janmark scored the tying goal and had an assist to help the Stars defeat the Nashville Predators 4-2 in the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas.
